Qatar Airways looks set to announce a deal with Boeing on Monday for 50 777X Freighters, in what is being seen as revenge for the ongoing Airbus dispute.

The report from Bloomberg states that the 50-strong order will consist of 15 firm orders, with options for 35 more aircraft.

It is also understood the deal will be signed at the White House in order to "showcase trade relations between the two nations".

At this stage, the delivery dates for these aircraft are not known, but for Boeing, they are utilizing the first aircraft launch in five years off a peculiar situation occurring on the other side of the pond.

Based on data of the last 12 months, this is the fleet that Qatar Airways has been utilizing.

Joining this fleet over the next few years will be obviously the 50 777X freighters, but also has 60 777X passenger aircraft on the way as well, bringing the total to 110 777Xs, which is a staggering figure.

Now, of course, the 50 777X freighters look set to replace the 50 Airbus A321neos that have been canceled by Airbus as a result of the surface degradation issues, but can't really be compared in that light.

From an already extensive fleet, this order will make it even more extensive going into the future.
